Major Moscow's Strikes Cut Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and faced problems to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has intensified strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, Europe and the major economies - in supplying defensive weapons and applying restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen missiles attacked the country's power systems, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the city came under heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were hurt.

The attacks succeed nights of aerial attacks in the territory, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to spot.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and authorities were bracing for more assaults.
